Are you a 3, D, 9, S ???
/I am sure you have completed a personality profile at a company workshop. Maybe you took a deep dive into the questions, or maybe due to time restraints, you skimmed. I know self awareness is good, but it’s not always an eye opening adventure when you are surrounded by strangers OR people you have to work with daily.
SO, I have linked 2 tests below that you can take in the privacy of your home, car, or wherever you can do your best thinking.
I think the hardest part was answering as how I “really” am. Not how I “should” be. Again, that’s why it’s probably not the best thing to do in a group setting and then having an open discussion regarding your personality traits. Awkward!! It can get really uncomfortable when they start going into detail about what types of professions are best held by people with certain kinds of traits. Not cool if you are THE manager and typically your traits are best suited for NOT a manager.
The first test, commonly known as the DISC test is linked here. This version is only 20 questions long, so it may be a good one start with.
The 2nd one is a little tougher. Grab a snack and click here. The choices range from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree. When you get the results, you will know your Enneagram number and be able to read how your number relates to the other numbers.
Why take a personality assessment? Per Tony Robbins: “Personality tests are often used in psychology to help refine diagnoses as well as in business to assess potential candidates and help build cohesive teams. They can also help individuals better understand their strengths and weaknesses so that they can become the best version of themselves. Even the most self-aware individuals have personal blind spots, as the nature of self-awareness is itself limited.”
