Is it time for a change?
/So many phone calls and meetings lately with fellow Realtors looking for a change. Some are on teams and no longer want to be. They are ready to go out on their own and start building their own business. Some tried it on their own and realized they need more training and guidance and want to find a team.
Some expressed feeling “used” during this very fast paced time in the market — open houses, showings, busy work, and not any real “training” were some of the complaints I heard. Individual agents experienced burn out because they felt alone in their business and had no real help or support.
Ask yourself some questions as you ponder a change:
Can you complete a sale from start to finish with confidence?
Can you lead a buyer or seller meeting and convey your knowledge of the process, market, trends, possible roadblocks, and general financing questions?
Do you know how to market yourself?
Are you compensated fairly for the work you do and the business you close?
Do you get ongoing coaching and training?
If you need help or advice, is a team lead or broker immediately available?
Do you make new contacts weekly to expand your sphere of buyer and seller leads?
Are you prepared for the changing market?
Are systems and processes in place for you to grow?
Have you completed certifications? Broker classes?
Do you feel in control of your business? Your schedule? Your goals?
Is your team/office too big? Too small? Do you feel like a little fish in a big pond or carrying too much of the weight?
Does your value system or work ethic align with your team/office? Are you comfortable?
I am here if you want to bend my ear, vent and/or brainstorm! I’ve had those same questions in my 25+ years in real estate. Obviously, as the years passed my answers have changed…..but so have the questions. Some things get easier and some become more of a challenge. Perspective changes and so do goals. BUT most significantly, people change.
